The origins of an independent spy agency, set against the Great War. Messy and inconsistent prequel, showcasing series strengths (brio, some startling moments) and weaknesses (tonal awkwardness) in equal measure. A freewheeling approach to both history and emotion throughout render this flashy, but empty.
Two soldiers are given orders to deliver an urgent message to prevent a massacre. Works better as a race-against-time action movie than as an anti-war flick, but sustains itself impeccably and looks great throughout. The single-shot/more-or-less real-time aesthetic just about justifies itself, though can be distracting in quieter moments.
In the last moments of WWI, a team go behind German lines to investigate a mysterious compound where chemical weapons may be being developed. Okay addition to the period military zombie subgenre: the 1918 setting is a bonus. The usual infighting, mad doctor, odd alliances plus marauding infested shenanigans ensue.
