Rabid (2019, dir. Jen Soska & Sylvia Soska [AKA The Soska Sisters])

A struggling fashion designer receives an experimental skin graft; she becomes patient zero of a rabies-like epidemic. Uneven but watchable remake of the 1977 David Cronenberg movie (with nods to others). Lots of ideas and directions tried, though not all are followed through; some pleasingly weird moments tho.

Wolves (2014, dir. David Hayter)

A high-school quarterback becomes a drifter so he can find out the truth about his developing lycanthropy. Tatty would-be-serious take on the werewolf flick. Grimy and undernourished, with a sleazy aspect to it that makes for a bleak viewing experience. An OK cast does what they can.

Haunter (2013, dir. Vincenzo Natali)

A teenager finds she and her family are reliving the same day, and might be ghosts. Slight but effective supernatural yarn, held together by good performances and solid direction, though it yields few surprises.
