Natasha Romanoff reunites with her estranged fake family to disrupt a post-Soviet Russian agent programme. Patchy Marvel SF/spy adventure (the first Phase 4 movie) awkwardly balancing dysfunctional familial bickering and action set-pieces. A strong cast helps, as does a relatively low-stakes approach and some attempts at character.
A young woman, new at court, works to undermine her cousin and become the favoured companion of Queen Anne. Smart drama with a darkly comic sensibility, flirting between arthouse and mainstream. Excellent performances throughout, even if it bears only a passing resemblance to the actual history.
A damned occultist battles a demonic attempt to take over the Earth. Fun apocalyptic fantasy-horror-action hybrid, loosely based on the Hellblazer comic. Lots to enjoy, though over-reliance on CG softens the film’s impact.
A non-Bourne series entry, parallel to the events of The Bourne Ultimatum. A slightly SF riff on the franchise, this is hampered by the lack of a third act, but the action is good, and there’s plenty of quality character actors barking orders.
