Or, Jack Ryan v. bits of the IRA. Awkwardly-conceived thriller which tries to have ‘good’ and ‘bad’ terrorists (this was pre-9/11; the IRA tended to be romanticised in USÂ popculture). Some decent set-pieces, and a picture-postcard view of the UK.

A professional thief becomes involved in a Russian conspiracy involving cold fusion technology. Below-par star-vehicle thriller some distance from the source material. Good location work and solid support can’t prevent this being a waste of talent.
Clear and Present Danger (1994, dir. Phillip Noyce)
Jack Ryan v the drug cartels. Second and better of the Ford/Noyce Tom Clancy adaptations, Danger works well as both a procedural thriller and an action piece, and isn’t afraid to make the good guys complicit.
