The Debt Collector 2 [AKA Debt Collectors] (2020, dir. Jesse V Johnson)

French and Sue go to Las Vegas on the promise of a payday. DTV martial arts comedy-thriller sequel that’s a cut above. The mix of bickering and bar fights as before, though there’s some panache in the direction, the action choreography, and the chemistry between the leads. Recommended for genre fans.

Star Trek: Nemesis (2002, dir. Stuart Baird)

The crew of the Enterprise face a Romulan rebellion led by a clone of Picard. Action-heavy final instalment for the Next Generation crew, which revisits plenty of old series themes. Surprisingly tatty in places; for fans and completists only.

Finders Keepers (2014, dir. Alexander Yellen)

A child of divorced parents becomes possessed by a demonic doll. Clumsy horror unable to deliver on scares, gore, dread, or much interior logic despite a mounting body count and a decent supporting turn from Tobin Bell. Meh.
