A shark like con artist tricks an OAP out of her home and savings only to discover her victim has hidden criminal connections. Deliciously black comedy, with great casting and well written script. Everyone is having a great time here and the result is watchable, thrilling and at times infuriating!

Unorthodox priests, who sin to make themselves attractive to demons, come up against a powerful foe. Scrappy horror-comedy that isn’t as shocking as it wants to be. Game playing from a talented cast helps, but this is a grab-bag of other, better movies.

The Hunt (2020, dir. Craig Zobel)
A group of strangers find themselves being hunted. Okay The Most Dangerous Game variant with a few plot wrinkles, not all of which work. Stronger on splatter gore moments than as the intended satire, but there’s some fun to be had, and Betty Gilpin is great in badass mode.
Logan Lucky (2017, dir. Steven Soderbergh)
Two down-on-their-luck brothers plan a heist at a Nascar race. Massively confident and entertaining crime comedy, which takes the hoariest of premises (breaking out of prison to commit the perfect crime) and has lots of fun with it. Polished entertainment.
Hold The Dark (2018, dir. Jeremy Saulnier)
A hunt for a child snatched by wolves is more complex than it first seems. Hugely impressive wintry contemporary Western, with perhaps a touch of the supernatural. Doesn’t give up its answers easy. Highly recommended.
