Tree finds out the reason for her time loop; but she’s trapped inside it again. Decent SF-tinged sequel to the Groundhog Day-aping original, this time with an expanded cast and a greater focus on humour throughout. No classic, but still fun and inventive enough to make Part 3 a welcome prospect.

Happy Death Day (2017, dir. Christopher B. Landon)
A female student has to relive the day of her murder again and again. Sprightly campus-based slasher horror-comedy, fairly unashamed in its mashup of Groundhog Day and Scream. Pretty good, within its limitations, leading to a direct sequel two years later.
