Two criminals are hired for a straightforward job: matters get complicated. Excellent period drama, using the tropes of noir to critique capitalism and corporate greed. Lots to relish, not least a cast in depth, plus slick, confident direction, writing, and design. Recommended.
The true story of Rick Wershe, drug dealer and teen FBI informant. Intriguing spin on the rise-and-fall story, focusing on the latter; good performances, and director Demange again shows he can handle drama, action, genre, character actors and period detail.
A teenage girl is stalked by an implacable curse which can only be passed on by sleeping with someone else. Splendid autumnal indie-horror with a Carpenterish vibe and a focus on creeping dread as much as on jumps. Recommended.
