A loner hitman is given an unusual assignment in a small town. A strong cast is given little to do in this ponderous thriller, saddled with a glum voiceover and a very guessable mystery element. Ah well.

A serial killer stalks a group of film students. Tenuous (and only vaguely urban legend-ish) sequel that has fun moments and a couple of neat movie shout-outs, but which is unscary, not gory, is illogical, and has few characters to root for. The whodunnit angle gets lost in the process. A third movie followed.

A distant teenage girl becomes the object of unwanted attention. Smart, well-directed horror flick that explores the boundaries of the high-school slasher movie. Good performances, a touch of bleakness, and unsettling moments of gore make for a well-judged genre experience.
A hunted ex-cop and a young girl with mob secrets go on the run together. Terrific New York chase thriller, balancing stunts, action and rock-solid fight choreography together to make a daft but supremely entertaining package. For genre fans, but highly recommended nevertheless.
