Brisk, breathless SF/action mashup of Limitless, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Besson’s own La Femme Nikita plus a dozen other sources to make something daffy, hugely enjoyable, and totally nonsensical.
Clever live action remake of Disney classic, retains much of its original charm and character. Solid casting and strong singing performances all round. A lovely charming film. 😃
A record of the Stones’ 2016 Cuban concert. Straightforward document of the live event, with the Stones on fine form, rattling through a reasonable selection of their better-known hits.
A loser private eye and a professional hard man team up to find a missing girl. Splendid 70s-set comedy-thriller with bags of confidence, great performances, and a zippy script. A solid job all round.
Chief Brody takes on a second shark menacing Amity Island. Teen-oriented sequel to the Spielberg classic which maintains something of the feel of the original, though the story is inevitably second-hand. The original cast (minus Dreyfuss) do their best.
Snowboarders fend off zombies in a ski-lodge. Terrible title, weak jokes, and duff acting aside, this is a tatty-but-endearing one-joke movie which foregrounds gory slapstick and the occasional genuinely inventive visual over logic or story. Passable.
Complete and utter garbage. I wanted to set my eyes and face on fire. Never watch this shit. Ever. 😡
