Unmatched dinosaur shenanigans from a director at the peak of his powers. Peerless effects and set pieces still astound today. Genuinely terrifying, with echoes of Jaws, this is film making at its finest.

It’s no Jaws, but there’s loads of great stuff and the majority of the CG is still exemplary. A few plot holes, but nothing that casting the late great Bob Peck didn’t sort out. And watching it back to back with the recent Jurassic World does the newer movie no favours at all.
