Logan (2017, dir. James Mangold)

2029. An aging Logan and a dying Xavier commit to one last stand. Overlong and clunky in parts, this is nevertheless an elegiac and fittingly serious send-off, riffing on time-worn western and road movie themes.

    1. I reckon Wolverine/Logan/Jackman earned it. Plus, it’s good to see some different stories told. There’s too much origin, spandex, then concrete city smash-up stuff out there which makes the films fairly samey. Still, I’d agree it’s not a trick you can play too often.
